Services held for Edward Lewis Lenhart

Funeral services for Edward Lewis Lenhart were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 1995, at the Sutherland, Iowa, Church of Christ. Russell Steele, Ken Greeley and Randy Steele officiated. The casket bearers were Ron Lenhart, Russell Steele, Randy Steele, Monte Montgomery, Mark Hoven, Jeff Krentz, Jon Schmid, Neil Lueth, David Lueth and Steve Carlson.

Interment was at Waterman Cemetery in Sutherland, Iowa, under the direction of the Warner-Baum-garten Funeral Home of Sutherland.

OBITUARY

Edward Lewis Lenhart, the son of Arthur Benton and Celia Mae Chesley Lenhart, was bom October 29, 1921, in Larrabee, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in O'Brien and Clay County, where he received his early education, graduating from Rossie High School.

Throughout his adult life, Ed farmed near Sutherland. He enjoyed sports of all kinds and loved to watch basketball and keep track of local games. Ed passed away suddenly at his home near Sutherland on Friday, March 17, 1995, at the age of 73. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald.

He is survived by three sisters: Wilda (Mrs. Earl) Schmid of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; Phyllis Steele of Rochester, Minnesota; and Karen (Mrs. Arlynn) Lueth of Fairmont, Minnesota; one sister-in-law, Marianne Lenhart of Sutherland; 12 nieces and nephews; 21 grand-nieces and grand-nephews; other relatives and friends.
