OBITUARY

Evelyn Alberta Hintz Austin, the daughter of William and Lily Matzdorff Hintz, was born on July 6, 1921, at Springfield, Minnesota. She came with her parents to Iowa at an early age and attended Linn Grove and Peterson High Schools.

She was united in marriage to James Austin at Sutherland, Iowa, on December 31, 1949. They made their home on a farm near Sutherland and she was a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church at Sutherland. She passed away at her daughter's home in Albert City on September 29, 1985, after a one month illness at the age of 64.

Preceding her in death were her father, William C. Hintz, two daughters, Patricia Ann Austin and Karen King Vernon; one son, Kenneth King; and one grandson, Robert Preusser, Jr., the infant son of Jane.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, three daughters, Jane, Jenny and Sarah ; five grandchildren, Gloria, Richard, Kimberly, Elizabeth, and Joshua; her mother, Mrs. Lily Nichtern of Sutherland; three brothers, William Hintz of Camanche, Iowa, and Marvin and Arlin Hintz, both of Clinton, Iowa; two sisters, Thelma (Mrs. Vernon) Willits of Camanche and Adeline (Mrs. Russell) Malone of Omaha, Neb., other relatives and many friends.
