Services For Gordon M. Aldred

Gordon M. Aldred, 68, passed away Saturday evening, October 5th in the St. Luke's Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa following a 5 week illness. His home was at 1110 West Willow St. He had lived in Cherokee the past 10 years, prior to this in Lincoln, Nebr.

He was born January 5, 1917 at Sutherland, Iowa. He was married to Violet Covell on October 14, 1939 at Aurelia, Iowa. He had worked for the Lincoln Original Center and the Correctional Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. He had also worked as a civil engineer for the Cherokee County Courthouse. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Violet of Cherokee; his mother, Mrs. Mable Aldred, Cherokee. He was preceded in death by his father Milton Aldred, also 2 brothers.

Funeral services for Gordon M. Aldred were held Tuesday, October 8, at 10 a.m. from the Boothby Funeral Home. Rev. Bob Davis officiated and burial was in the Waterman Cemetery at Sutherland, Iowa. There was a family prayer service at 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday.
