SHELDON—Stanley Wayne De Boer, 48, Sheldon, died Thesday, Apr. 18, at Northwest Iowa Health Center, Sheldon.
Services were Thursday, April 20, at Andringa Funeral Home, Sheldon Funeral Service, with the Rev. Kevin Muyskens and Bryan Lagerstam officiating.
Stan De Boer, son of Simon and Wilma (Dykstra) De Boer, was born Oct. 15, 1957, in Sheldon. He lived his youth in Sheldon, where he attended the Sheldon Christian Grade School and Unity Christian High School in Orang City. He married Minty Goodsell of Sheldon on June 21, 1980. They lived in Sheldon and Colorado Springs, CO where he worked with a construction company. They later divorced. He moved back in 1998 to Sheldon where he farmed and lived on the family farm and worked at Ritte Elevator.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing pool at the Eagles, throwing darts and working on cars. His son, Casey, loved to be with his dad, hunting, fishing and working on engines. They enjoyed white water rafting and going to pro football games together, and yearly fishin trips. They currently were working on a car for a demolition derby.
Survivors include his son, Casey De Boer of Sheldon; his parents, Simon and Wilma De Boer of Sheldon; two sisters, Dorothy and Paul Postma, Orange City, and Carol and Mike Ling of Sibley; and very special friend Larry and Karen Christians of Sheldon, Dale Zoet of Sheldon and Minity Goodsell.
