Griffin Family in Iowa

Hello. I am searching for my GGreat Grandfather and his family. His name was Michael Edward Griffin, but went by Edward. He was born between 1855-1861
He was born in IA. He married a Mary Shipman in 1879 and had three children.
He was in the Spanish-American War and on his enlistment papers it states we was from Muscatine, IA.
I'm looking for his parents as well as siblings he might of had.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
