From information I had read about John B. Yeager of IA, it stated that he was b. in VA and his family had been in America since 1717 (which would connect him to the Germanna Colony 2nd settlement of 1717). I haven't been able to connect a father to him.

I have information from the Perrysville, Vermillion Co, IN marriage records of a wife, Eliza A. Juvenall 27 Jan 1827. Then a marriage to Amanda Perrin 10 Oct 1850 (this one is for sure his 2nd wife).

John was living in Moscow, Muscatine Co, IA pre-1850 and stories say his wife is Sarah Jane, not Eliza A. Juvenall (even though her burial is in Muscatine Co, IA and says "wife of J.B. Yeager).

Sarah Jane was the mother of ten children, died age 40 in 1848 - John age 54 (which would make him b. 1794). He went back to IN and married Amanda Perrin, 1850 and had 3 children in IA.

At age 60, still having 8 children at home, moved to Sugar Creek, Cedar Co, IA . He died age 60, and Amanda d. a few years later, leaving the 8 children to live with a sister & husband.

Two of the sons, William and Erastus "Red" Yeager moved to Walla Walla, WA about 1850. Some of the sons moved to KS in the 1850's, 3 Yeager sons were in the Civil War (1 died, John, Jr.).

The children of John B. Yeager & Sarah Jane:
William J. Yeager 1829
Austin B. Yeager 1830
Erastus Yeager 1831
Mary A. Yeager
Harriet Yeager
George W. Yeager 30 Dec 1837
Ann Yeager 1840
Homer Yeager 1842
John Yeager, Jr
Jane Yeager

Children of John B. Yeager and Amanda Perrin:

Chester Yeager 1851
Cyrus Yeager
Martha Eliza Yeager

Does anyone have a clue as to where this John Yeager connects in VA? I'd appreciate anything that you can share.

Thank you,
Marjorie Tittle
