The Dorland Enigma by Barbara A. Barth, which includes the Darland family is being published in May, this is a A comprehensive, well-documented genealogy of the descendants of Gerrit, Lambert, and Elias Dorland, early settlers of New Netherland/New York. In addition to the male-lines, descendants of daughters are traced, in some cases for many generations. These families migrated early in large numbers to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, Mo and points west. Many errors in earlier accounts of the Dorlands are corrected.

This book includes Van Liew Darland and wife Mary Overman.
