BOLAND, ALEXANDER

My grandfather, William W. Alexander was born in Muscatine abt 1875. His parents were GEORGE ALEXANDER and ANN BOLAND. From the oral family history, I know that the Boland family left County Mayo Ireland, sailed to New Orleans, and eventually settled in the Muscatine area where they were farmers. My research leads me to believe that George and Ann were married JUL 30, 1860. They had 8 children before moving to Walnut in eastern Iowa. I believe that Ann's parents were PATRICK BOLAND and CATHERINE DOUGHERTY. Besides Ann, their family included CORNELIUS, WILLIAM, PATRICK, and THOMAS. I believe that William and Patrick remained in Muscatine. Cornelius and Thomas also lived in Walunt. Thomas and his wife, EMMA, and my ggrandparents Ann and George are buried in the Catholic cemetery in Walnut. I would like to share information with anyone who is researching this family.
