Funeral services for Mrs. Roy J. (Minnie I.) Egel, 84, Muscatine, were held at the Barker Funeral Home, West Branch, Jan. 22 with the Rev. T. Hirleman Aalborg, pastor of Bethany Lutheran church, officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery, Muscatine. Pallbearers were Ronald Oostendorf, John Grimm, Richard Hueser, Brian and Kent Egel and Paul Benshoff. Mrs. Shirley Sondergard was organist and Max Lauser soloist. A memorial fund has been established.

Mrs. Egel died at the Crestview Care center, West Branch, Jan. 29.

The daughter of August and Louise Drumm Paul, she was born in Sweetland township, Muscatine county, March 6, 1900. She was married to Roy J. Egel at Muscatine Jan. 21, 1920. They farmed most of their lives in Muscatine county, moving to Muscatine in 1963.

She was a member of First Presbyterian church, Muscatine.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Norma) Grimm, West Branch; Mrs. Laverne (Farene) Harmsen, Davenport and Mrs. Max (Nelda) Lauser, Wilton; 2 sons, Kenneth, West Liberty and Duane, Bentonville, Ark., 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1964 and by a daughter.
