Funeral services for Everett M. Richards, 82, were held at West Liberty Jan. 5 with the Rev. John Morrissey officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge cemetery. Mr. Richards died of a heart attack at Naples, Fla., Jan. 1.

The son of Harry and Elma Mundy Richards, he was born at West Liberty July 12, 1902. He was a graduate of West Liberty high school and attended Iowa State University. He was married to Ruth Harney at Kahoka, Mo., Feb. 8, 1941.

Mr. Richards was a past president of the West Liberty school board, past president of Rotary, a member of the Muscatine Elks club and a former member of the West Liberty Fair board.

A retired farmer, he had been a buyer for the Dubuque Packing Co. before his retirement.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Priscilla Haessig, West Liberty. He was preceded in death by his wife and 2 sons.
