HENRY G. WALTER
Henry G. Walter, 79, of 1115 E. Mississippi Dr., Muscatine, died at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Marshalltown, after an extended illness.

Mr. Walter was a life resident of Muscatine, born Nov. 1, 1876 (FG states 1886 – which is mathematically correct for him to have been 79 at passing), the son of Frank and Minnie Hillmer Walter.

He was married June 30, 1928 in Muscatine, to Ida Callaway.

Mr. Walter was a veteran of World War I, and a retired employee of Huttig Mfg. Co. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal church, and the VFW.

Surviving are the widow Mrs. Ida Walter of Muscatine; on e step-son, William Callaway of South Laguna, Calif. Three step-daughters, Mrs. Lyle McFaddon, Rt. 5, Mrs. June Langford, El Tara Calif., and Mrs. Art Gross of Orange, Calif.; two brothers, Charles Walter of Muscatine, and Frank Walter of Cloquet, Minn.; seven grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

The body is now at the Ralph J. Wittich funeral home, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday.

Rev. H. Phillip Auffrey will conduct services at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be at greenwood cemetery with military rites by the American Legion and VFW.
