Mrs. Werner, 74, Succumbs After Brief Illness
Mr. Augusta A. Werner, 74, longtime resident of Muscatine, died early this morning at her home, 399 Bartlett street, after a brief illness.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran church and burial will be at Greenwood cemetery. The body is at the Geo. M. Wittich Funeral Home.

The daughter of August and Amelia Gerke Hartwig, Mrs. Werner was born Aug. 27, 1879, in Germany. She came to Muscatine as a child. Her marriage to C Henry Werner took place here on May 16, 1900.

Mrs. Werner was a member of the Zion Lutheran church and of the Ladies Aid of that church, was a charter member of the Lutheran Homes Sewing circle and held membership in Miriam Rebakah lodge and the Past Noble Grands Assn.

Survivors include her husband, at home; three sons, Carl H. and Marvin E. Werner of Muscatine and Ramond A. Werner of Minneapolis, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. Earl Stapish of Flint, Mich., and Mrs. Fred Anthony of Muscatine; one brother, Herman Hartwig of Davenport; three sisters, Mr. Charles C. Hagermann, Mrs. Clara Hartman, and Mrs. Frank Eickmeier of Muscatine; and four grandchildren.
