Mrs. Willhite, Local Teacher, Dies Suddenly
Mrs. Ivy Willhite, 65, who had been a teacher many years in the Muscatine public schools, died suddenly at 8 a.m. today.

She was born May 1, 1887 in Muscatine and had been a life resident of this city. She was married to Edward C. Willhite at Muscatine.

She was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s club, the Ethics club, Delta Kappa Gamma, Order of the Eastern Star and was a past worthy high priestess of the Rose Croix Shrine, White Shrine of Jerusalem.

Survivors include two sons, Kenton of Malibu, Calif., and Paul of Burlington; two brothers, Clyde Ryan of Madison, Wis., and Glenn Ryan of Davenport; two sisters, Minnie Cross of Cicero, Ind. And Edna Johnson of Des Moines; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son and two brothers.

The body is now at the Geo. M. Wittich Funeral home, where arrangements for funeral services are pending. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery.
