Last rites for Mrs. Glen (Laura Anna) Phelps, 76, will be held at 11 a.m. today (May 11) at the First Church United, West Liberty, with the Rev. Ralph Farmer officiating. Burial will be in Overman cemetery, Atalissa.

Mrs. Phelps died at her home in West Liberty May 8.

The daughter of William and Emma Taylor Weikert, she was born in Muscatine county March 11, 1907, and was married to Glen Phelps in Muscatine Feb. 22, 1928. They farmed near Atalissa from 1944 until retiring and moving to West Liberty. She was a member of First Church United.

She is survived by her husband; 2 sons, Stanley, West Liberty and Wesley, Muscatine; 5 daughters, Mrs. Harry (Lila) DeBourcy, Muscatine; Mrs. James (Grace) Stucker and Mrs. James (Ruth) Timmsen, both of Wilton and Mrs. Fred (Anne) Howe and June Phelps, both of West Liberty; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Florence) Reynolds and Mrs. Ed (Isabell) Baer, both of Muscatine.

Mrs. Phelps was preceded in death by one daughter and one sister.
