Last rites for Fred Passmore, 86, Atalissa farmer, were held at the Snider Funeral home, West Liberty, Feb. 21 with the Rev. William Bentzinger officiating. Burial was in Muscatine Memorial park. Pallbearers were Merlyn and Leland Spilger, Darel and Ray Sterner, Alvin Jarvis and Robert Lehman. Mrs. Dorothy Mays was organist.

Mr. Passmore died at his home Feb. 28 following a heart attack.

The son of John and Emma Chasteen Passmore, he was born in Muscatine county Aug. 29, 1896. He was married to Theresa Gatzke at Atalissa Feb. 7, 1923.

He farmed in Muscatine county. He was a member of Zion Lutheran church, serving as church president and treasurer for many years.

Mr. Passmore is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Everett (Marie) Kline, Kansas City, MO; 2 sons, Donald and Dwight, both of Atalissa; 2 sisters, Mrs. Bessie Lehman and Violet Passmore, both of West Liberty; a brother, Chet, West Liberty; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
