Final rites for Mrs. James (Louise) Laughlin, 63, were held at West Liberty Jan. 21 with the Rev. Frank Greenwood officiating. Burial was in Oakridge cemetery. Pallbearers were Dennis and Harold Barnes, Robert Franz, Vernon Wright, Lowell Rockafellow and Bernard Gerber.

Mrs. Laughlin died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, Jan. 19.

The daughter of Lloyd and Zelma Mackey Barnes, she was born at West Liberty Sept. 12, 1918. She was married to James Edward Laughlin in Joplin, Mo. in October, 1948. A graduate of West Liberty high school in 1936, she later attended the Cedar Rapids Beauty school and operated a beauty shop in West Liberty.

She is survived by a son William, West Liberty; a brother, Walter Barnes, Leland, Ill. and 2 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband.
