Funeral services for Louis Brei, 79, were held at the Snider Funeral home, West Liberty, Jan. 6 with the Rev. Gregory Hanneman officiating. Burial was in Muscatine Memorial Park cemetery. Mr. Brei died at the Simpson Memorial home in West Liberty Jan. 3.

The son of Henry and Caroline Brossart Brei, he was born in Sweetland township, Muscatine county, Aug. 15, 1902. He was married to Irene Monk in Davenport Jan. 1, 1930. He had farmed in the West Liberty area.

Mr. Brei is survived by his wife; a son, Robert, West Liberty; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Carolyn) Egel, West Liberty; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.
