Funeral services for Genevieve M. Schlimmer, 56, Atalissa, were held Aug. 14 at the Snider Funeral Home in West Liberty. with the Rev. William Bentzinger officiating. Burial was in the Overman cemetery in Atalissa. Mrs. Schlimmer died Aug. 11 at University hospitals after a lengthy illness.

She was born Feb. 18, 1925 in Atalissa to Lawrence and Mildred Schildberg McKillip. She graduated from Atalissa High school and married Marvin Schlimmer Aug. 3, 1944, in Davenport. She was bookkeeper and grain buyer for L. W. McKillip and sons in Atalissa for 21 years. She was a member of the Lutheran church in Atalissa, the Royal Neighbors and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Schlimmer is survived by her husband, 2 sons, Richard, Dubuque and Donald, Muscatine; a daughter, Deborah, Forgon, Okla.; 2 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Lyle, Atalissa and Kenneth, Chariton and her father. She was preceded in death by her mother, 3 brothers and a sister.
