Last rites for Elmer Jepsen, 71, were held at the Lacock Funeral home, Durant, May 5 with the Rev. Samuel VanderJagt officiating. Burial was in the Durant cemetery. Pallbearers were Chris Jepsen, Charles and Tom Heston, Randy Harmson, Dick Hueser and Glen Goetz. Max Lauser was vocalist and Mabyn Fox, organist.

Mr. Jepsen died at Mercy hospital, Davenport, May 2.

The son of Louis and Amelia Moeller Jepsen, he was born in Blue Grass Dec. 5, 1909. He was married to Wilma Harmsen in Davenport Oct. 17, 1943.

Mr. Jepsen was a farmer in the Durant area, retiring in 1972. The Jepsens moved to Durant where he worked part-time at Hank's Car Wash.

He was an army veteran of World War II and a member of the Moose lodge at Muscatine.

He is survived by his wife, 3 sons, James, Gary and Dennis, all of Durant; 7 grandchildren, a brother, Lorenz, Wilton and a sister, Laurinda Heston, Davenport. He was preceded in death by a sister.
