Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Barkhurst, 67, West Liberty, were held at the Snider Funeral Home in West Liberty at 1:30 p.m. June 15. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Barkhurst died June 12 at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, after a long illness.

She was born May 15, 1912 and was the daughter of Frank and Ethel Churchill Moffit. She married Walter Barkhurst at Cambridge, Ill. They farmed near Atalissa. After the death of Mr. Barkhurst, she moved to West Liberty, where she had been employed at the Coffee Town restaurant.

Mrs. Barkhurst was a graduate of Iowa State Teachers college and taught school for several years. She was a member of the Clarence chapter, Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by 2 sons, Robert, Madison, Wis. and Richard, Florissant, Mo., and a brother, Carson Moffit, Clarence.
