Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1970William F. Schmoldt, 74, died at 12:05 a.m. today at Muscatine General Hospital following an illness of three weeks. His home was at 712 W. Fulliam Ave.
He was born April 11, 1895, at Muscatine the son of Frederick and Lucy Koester Schmoldt, and had been a life resident at this community.
He married Minnie Prien, Nov. 12, 1919 at Muscatine. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran church, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Schmoldt was a veteran of World War I. He was a retired employe of Huttig Manufacturing Co.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Minnie Schmoldt; two daughters, Mrs. George Rutka and Mrs. Almeda Logel, both of Muscatine; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Herbst and Mrs. Lyle Davidson of Muscatine, and Mrs. Eda Keever, Gladstone, Ill.; three grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
His parents, two brothers, one sister, and one granddaughter preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home with Rev. E. B. Meyer officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
