Mrs. Benson, 82 Called in Death; Rites Wednesday

Mrs. Julia Benson, 82, died at 6:25 p.m. Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry G. Sander, in Lake township, after a month's illness.

The daughter of Nora and Thomas Garrett, she was born Oct. 16, 1857, in Muscatine where has been a resident her entire life. She was married to George W. Benson, July 18, 1878.

Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Harry G. Sander of Lake township, a sister, Mrs. Mary O'Melia and a brother, Patrick Garrett, both of this city.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mathias church. The body is at the Meyers Funeral home and will remain there until rites are held. The Rosary will be recited at the Meyers Funeral home Tuesday evening at 7:30. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
