Minnie Schmoldt, 85, 712 W. Fulliam Avenue, died Tuesday morning (1/22/85) at Muscatine General Hospital. Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Ahlstrom will officiate. Visitation will be today from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Schmoldt was born August 7, 1899 at Montpelier, a daughter of August A. and Eliza Anna Hessler Prien. She was a life resident here. On November 12, 1919, she married William F. Schmoldt at Muscatine. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She owned and operated the Schmoldt Grocery. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. George (Norma) Rutka and Mrs. Bryan (Almeda) Rich, both of Muscatine; two sisters, Mrs. Terrill (Leora) Young; and Mrs. Viola Paulsen, West Branch; three grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and seven great great-grandchildren. Her husband, one grandchild and one great great-grandchild preceded her in death.
