Funeral services for Floyd Ernest Staley, 76, former Atalissa resident, were held at the Atalissa Christian church July 28. Burial was in Overman cemetery near Atalissa.

Mr. Staley died at a Muscatine nursing home July 25, where he had lived since 1968.

Born March 28, 1895 in Muscatine county, he was a son of John C. and Sarah Jane Beggs Staley.

Mr. Staley was a member of the Cedar Valley United Methodist church.

He had been a farmer.

Survivors include a brother, Archie Staley, Atalissa; a sister, Mrs. Tony (Teresa) Hunter, Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
