Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle DeForest, 84, were held at West Liberty Sept.9. Mrs. DeForest died at Meth-Wick Manor, Cedar Rapids, Sept. 5, following a long illness.

Born Myrtle Crees Dec. 26, 1886 near West Liberty, she was married to George DeForest in 1916.

The couple lived in the Mechanicsville and Mt. Vernon communities for many years.

She was a member of First Presbyterian church, West Liberty; Lotus chapter, Order of Easter Star of which she was a past matron. She was also a former member of the Mechanicsville Past Matron's circle.

She is survived by a brother, Ed Crees, living at Meth-Wick Manor.
