Gladys Pearl Zibilich (1921-2021)

Gladys Zibilich, 100, of Westminster, Colorado, formerly of Lone Tree and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021 with her children at her side.

A Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lone Tree. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery, with military rites by the Lone Tree American Legion Post 457. Following committal services food and fellowship will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Hall. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 26, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. following a 9:30 a.m. Rosary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or Wounded Warriors in memory of Gladys. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com . The Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Lone Tree is caring for Gladys’ family and arrangements.

Gladys Pearl Cook was born in rural West Liberty on April 11, 1921 to George and Ada (Lenz) Cook. She was a graduate of Bennett High School. Gladys attended St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in Davenport, Iowa. She served as an army nurse (First Lieutenant) during WWII in the South Pacific where she met her husband, George. They were married on July 4, 1946 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Throughout her life Gladys enjoyed camping, cooking, playing cards, bowling, watching sporting events and game shows, dancing with the love of her life, George, and spending time with family and friends.

Gladys will be deeply missed by her children; George Zibilich, Jr. and his wife, Marilyn of Eureka, California; Gloria Zibilich and her husband Neil Corman of Woodland, Pennsylvania; and Debbie Yakish and her husband, Rick of Thornton, Colorado; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Roberta; son-in-law Randy; husband George and her sister Berneda Schnoebelen.
