Mrs. Schmidt, 72, Goes in Death; Services Friday

Mrs. Effie H. Schmidt, 72, a resident of Muscatine for 45 years, died at 5:15 a.m. today at Bellevue hospital after a two weeks’ illness with a heart ailment. Her home was at 892 Climer street.
The daughter of Baxter and Mary Hastings Hamilton, she was born March 14, 1876, at Brighton, Ia., and had resided in Brighton until coming to Muscatine. She was married to Frank w. Williamson.
Survivors are her husband, John Schmidt of Muscatine; one son, Louis G. Williamson, Davenport; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Stark and Mrs. John Barko, Sr., both of Muscatine; five brothers, Jack Waldo Hamilton of Brighton, Henry and Peter Hamilton, both of Richland, Ia., and Charles and Jesse Hamilton, both of Davenport; one sister, Mrs. Arthur Zieske of Newton; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, her first husband, two daughters, one son and one sister.
The body has been taken to the George M. Wittich Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.

Final rites for Mrs. Effie H. Schmidt, 892 climer street, whose death occurred at Bellevue hospital Wednesday, were conducted at 2 p.m., Friday at the George M. Wittich funeral home by Dr. Claude Cooper, pastor of the First Methodist church. Interment was in Greenwood cemetery.
Casket bearers were Emil, Arthur and Edward Vetter, Walter, Emil and George Schmidt. Mrs. Lila Hildebrandt and Mrs. Fred Roth were in charge of the flowers. Mrs. Emil Schulz was the soloist and mrs. George Holliday served as organ accompanist.
