Memorial services for Vincent F. Eppel, 73, were held at St. Matthias church in Muscatine at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 14.

Mr. Eppel died late April 11 at Veterans hospital in Iowa City after a lengthy illness.

Eppel had lived near Tipton for 16 years and was a skilled sign painter.

Born in Muscatine Aug. 25, 1891, he was married to Pearl M. Mittman June 9, 1920 in Muscatine. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Betty) Toussaint, a son, Robert Jr., both of Cedar Rapids; 5 grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mrs. Frank Drake, Muscatine and Mrs. Norbert Oberhaus, Letts.

He was a member of St. Mary's church, and was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Tipton American Legion post.
