Services Saturday In Iowa City For Former Resident of Riverside

RIVERSIDE – Funeral services for Edward F. Colbert, 69, will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 in the St. Mary’s Church in Iowa City with burial in the St. Mary’s Cemetery at Nichols. Rosary will be recited Friday at 8 p.m. in the Donohue Funeral Home in Iowa City.

Mr. Colbert, a former resident of Riverside and Iowa City, died Wednesday at 6 p.m.in the Veterans Hospital at Iowa City following a short illness.

For the past several years he had made his home at the veterans hospital in Knoxville.

He was born near Nichols Jan. 7, 1893, a son of Thomas and Ellen Sullivan Colbert. He was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include three brothers, William of Riverside (currently a resident at Restopia in Columbus Junction), James of Cedar Rapids, and Martin of Melcher.
