Services were held Dec. 26 at West Liberty for Viola Faires, 88, who died suddenly Dec. 23 at the home of Mrs. Walter Mackey at West Liberty.

The Rev. Dale Williams officiated and burial was in Oakridge cemetery.

The daughter of Joel and Ursula Murphy Faires, she was born March 2, 1875, on a farm in Cedar county and spent her entire life in the West Liberty area. She was one of 10 children.

Miss Faires was a member of the Methodist church, Ruth circle and Floriculture Society.

Surviving is one sister, Mrs. Minerva Crees, West Liberty. Three sisters and 5 brothers preceded her in death.
