Robert V. Schatte, 37, of 1401 Park avenue, a resident of this community for several years, died at 5 p.m. Friday at Bellevue hospital after an illness of several weeks.
Mr. Schatte was born Dec. 20, 1895, at Egypt Mills, Mo., a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schatte. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Muscatine.
Surviving are his widow, the former Helen Schmeltzer, his father, of Advance, Mo., two half-brothers, Earl and John of Advance, Mo., and a sister, Ella, whose address is unknown.
Funeral arrangements are still incomplete, pending word from relatives at a distance. The V.F.W. post is in charge of arrangements.
