Mrs. Mary Ellen Heitman, 80, died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday at her home, 306 Orange street, following an illness of three months.
She was born at Morning Sun on Sept. 12, 1867, the daughter of William H. and Martha Lovina Stitt Raushenberger. Mrs. Heitman had made her home here for 25 years. Her marriage to Chester Fellows occurred on July 3, 1895, in Muscatine, and he died on Feb. 1, 1902. In 1907 she was married at Grandview to Frank Heitman and his death occurred in 1945.
Surviving are one son, Marvin Fellows, address unknown; three daughters Mrs. Lilly Mayer, Central City, Ia., Mrs. Elsie Gray, Huntington, Tenn., and Mrs. Lovina Slye, Renton, Wash.; one brother, Mart Raushenberger, Muscatine.
Preceding her in death were her husband, one son, Bernard Heitman, two brothers and two sisters.
The body is at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral home. Funeral arrangements are indefinite but burial will be in Grandview cemetery.
