MRS. JACOBS, 74 of WILTON DIES, SERVICES TUESDAY

Wilton – Mrs. Mary Nangle Jacobs, 74, long-time resident here, died at 2 p.m. Sunday in Bellevue hospital at Muscatine after an extended illness.

She was born in County Meade, Ireland, on May 15, 1875, the daughter of John and Mary Kiernan Nangle, and came to America at the age of six.

Her family settled at Wilton and she had lived here continuously since that time.

She was married to Peter Jacobs of Wilton who preceded her in death several years ago. She was a member of St. Mary’s church.

Mrs. Jacobs is survived by two sons N. J. and James T. Jacobs, both of Maquoketa, and one brother, James Nangle of Wilton. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, a brother and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary’s church. The Rev. Edward J. O’Hair will be celebrant of the mass. Burial will be in St. Mary’s cemetery.

The rosary will be recited at 7:30 tonight at the Griffith Funeral home.
