Funeral services for F. B. Franzen, 86, Muscatine, were held June 12 in Durant. He died at his home June 9 following a short illness.

He was born Sept. 9, 1876 in Germany and came to the United States at the age of 16. He married Bertha Strohbehn March 7, 1906 and farmed in Wilton township until retiring in 1943. Mrs. Franzen died in August of 1944.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Edward (Bernice) Noll, Muscatine; two sons, Henry of Stockton and Harold of Wilton; and four grandchildren. One sister, one brother and one grandson preceded him in death.
