West Liberty – George Rummells, 67, of rural route 1, West Liberty, died suddenly of a heart attack Thursday evening at his farm home.
He was born Jan. 28, 1900 at West Branch, the son of Henry and Carrie Kelch Rummels. He married Louise Heath on May 27, 1937 at Cedar Rapids.

Surviving are: his widow, Louise; one son, William of Davenport; one daughter, Mrs. Lowell (Linda) Forbes of Lone Tree; one brother, Floyd of West Branch; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Siler of West Branch, Mrs. Leola Hobbs of Iowa City and Mrs. Clara Jones of Cedar Rapids; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Snider funeral home in West Liberty.
