Walter Allison, Resident Here for 46 Years, Dies

Walter A. Allison, 78, 1160 New Hampshire street, died at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday at Bellevue hospital.

Mr. Allison was the son of Jesse and Susan Taylor Allison and was born Sept. 3, 1878, at St. Louis. He had lived in Muscatine for 46 years, coming here from Missouri.

He married Myrtle Walter, June 15, 1898, at Ellington, Mo. He had been employed at the Roach and Musser factory. He was a member of the Musserville Methodist church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Allison; a son, Raymond A. Allison, Muscatine; a daughter, Mrs. Sarah Lewis, Port Arthur, Texas; two sisters; Mrs. William Schrumm, Denver, Colo.; and Mrs. Rose Lawson, Muscatine, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sons and four brother.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Geo. M. Wittich funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
