George R. Moore, 61, Atalissa business man, died suddenly while seated at a desk in his service station on Highway 6 about 4:50 p.m. March 27.
He was found in a chair, with his head bowed, by the representative of an automotive parts firm. He was pronounced dead by a Wilton Junction physician, according to Deputy Sheriff Mike Martin.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. March 31 at Muscatine. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery, Muscatine. There was a Masonic service at the cemetery.
A resident of Atalissa for 14 years, Mr. Moore was a member of Ionic lodge of the Masons and a past patron of the Order of Eastern Star. He was born May 3, 1899, in Cedar county, the son of Lee R. and Margaret Black Moore. He was married Dec. 18, 1922, at Muscatine to Vera Mucha.
Surviving are his wife and 2 sisters, Mrs. Hazel Collins, Grand Rivers, Ky., and Adeline Moore, Davenport.
His parents, several sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
