Mrs. Mary Meixner, 77, West Liberty, died Jan. 8 at University hospital in Iowa City after a long illness.
She had resided in West Liberty 20 years and formerly lived in Cedar county.
Mrs. Meixner was born in Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Johanna Schwentzer Vaughan, July 30, 1882. Her parents moved to England when she was 6 weeks old and returned to Iowa when she was five.
She was married to Frank Meixner May 18, 1897, in Tipton. He survives.
Other survivors include 2 sons, John Meixner, Atalissa, and Frank Meixner, Jr., Muscatine; 4 daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Jordan, Davenport; Mrs. Ada Osborn, Atlantic; Mrs. Lorine Ford, Tipton, and Mrs. Lucille Shrock, Shellsburg; 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 6 children.
Funeral services were Jan. 11 at West Liberty with the Rev. Nancy Nichols, pastor of the Methodist church in Nichols, officiating. Burial was in the Wilton Junction cemetery.
