Mrs. G. Thompson Succumbs Suddenly

Stricken Down with Paralysis About 5 O’Clock

Was Well During Afternoon – Well Known in City – Died at 10 O’Clock Last Night.

After suffering from a stroke of paralysis for five hours last evening Mrs. George Thompson, residing at 806 West Eighth street, passed away at her home last night about 10:40 o’clock.

Mrs. Thompson was in the best of health until about 5 o’clock, when she was suddenly stricken down with paralysis, and passed away about five hours later.

She had many friends in the city who will be grieved to learn of her sudden death. Mrs. Thompson was 72 years of age and had resided here for 50 years. She is survived by her husband, four sons and one daughter, they being Edward, Bert and A. M. Thompson, of Muscatine, and L. E. Ewing of Billingham, Wash., and Mrs. Anna Nolte of Muscatine.

The funeral arrangements have not as yet been completed.

Funeral service – Remains of Mrs. George Thompson Laid to Rest

The funeral services of the late Mrs. George Thompson were held this afternoon at 2 o’clock, from the home of her son, Edwin Thompson, on West Eighth street. The pall bearers were: Ed. Hennecker, W. J. Hilton, August Eichoff, Luther W. Woods., S. Smedley and Robert Armstrong, all members of Shelby Norman, Post G. A. R. Interment was made in Greenwood Cemetery.

Per cemetery records, her name was Hannah P. Thompson.
