Earl Ellsworth, 75, Atalissa blacksmith, died Sunday in the Muscatine General hospital after a short illness. He had been a resident of the Atalissa area for some time.
He was born Aug. 4, 1881, at Aledo, Ill. He married Fannie Martin, who preceded him in death May 23, 1937.
Surviving are six sons, Dale, Slater; Boyd, Radcliffe; Merle, Iowa City; Loren, Spokane, Wash.; Ardelle, Muscatine, and John, Iowa City; two daughters, Mrs. Iris Ondler, Rochester, Minn., and Mrs. Ardyce Lane, Muscatine; two half brothers, Ernest Murdock, Aledo, Ill., and Forrest Whitney, Canada; a half sister, Julia Book, La Salle, Ill.; 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Presbyterian church in Atalissa. The Rev. Caleb Larson, Grandview, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Louis Penningroth.
