DEATH CAUSED BY PNEUMONIA -- MRS. GEORGE PILGRIM SUCCUMBS TO BRIEF ATTACK

Taken Ill Thanksgiving Day With Bronchial Pneumonia Which Developed Into Pleuro-Pneumonia

Mrs. George Pilgrim, a resident of this city for nearly fifty years, died shortly before 10 o’clock last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. Kemmer, 927 Newell avenue following a brief attack of pleuro-pneumonia. She was 63 years of age.

She was taken ill with bronchial pneumonia Thanksgiving day which later developed into pleuro-pneumonia and resulted in death last night.

Mrs. Pilgrim who was formerly Elizabeth Sitter was born September 27, 1855 in Germany where she spent her early womanhood. Forty-five years ago she came to Muscatine and has resided here since. Shortly after coming here, she married George Pilgrim who preceded her in death by several years.

To survive, she leaves one daughter, Mrs. G. Kemmer, one step-daughter, Mrs. E. E. Davidson and one step-son, Rheinhart Pilgrim, all of this city.

Funeral services will be held at one o’clock tomorrow afternoon from the home, the Rev. J. Haefner, pastor of Zion Lutheran church to officiate. Burial will be made in Greenwood cemetery.
