Mrs. Kolling Rites Set for Friday at 2 p.m. at Nichols

Nichols - Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Kolling, who died June 15 at the Mahaska county hospital in Oskaloosa, will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. from the Henry Kirchner residence at Nichols. Burial will be in the Nichols cemetery.

Rites Conducted for Mrs. Kolling

Nichols – Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Knolling, 70, of What Cheer, were held at the home of her brother, Henry Kirchner, here at 2 p.m. Friday. Burial was in the Nichols cemetery.

Elizabeth Kirchner, daughter of Bernhard and Charlotte Kirchner, was born near Nichols, Ia., Feb. 1, 1867. She died at the Mahaska hospital, Oskaloosa, Ia., Tuesday.

She spent her early life at Nichols. Nov. 12, 1901, she was married to William E. Bowen, of What Cheer. She made her home at What Cheer the remainder of her life. Mr. Bowen preceded her in death Oct. 20, 1910.

On Dec. 2, 1913, she was married to Charles f. Kolling, of What Cheer. He died Aug. 16, 1923.

Mrs. Kolling was a member of the Lutheran church at What Cheer.

Surviving are two brothers, Henry of Nichols and John of Fort Worth, Tex., and three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Carl of Nichols, Mrs. Anna Mapes of What cheer, and Gertrude Kirchner of Nichols. Her parents and two brothers, Frederick H. and Bernard A., preceded her in death.
