WEST LIBERTY - Ira L. Pike, 77, of West Liberty, died Sunday evening in Muscatine General Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the West Liberty United Methodist Church with Rev. Lawrence Carlson officiating. Burial will be in the Nichols Cemetery.
The son of Everett and Minnie Pruess Pike, he was born Jan. 11, 1894, in Nichols. He married Anna Benninger Feb. 16, 1916 in Muscatine.
Mr. Pike had farmed near Nichols and before retiring in 1947, he operated a grocery store in Nichols. He was a member of the West Liberty united Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Betty) Tyler, Muscatine, and Mrs. Edmund (Lou) Winfield, West Liberty, one son, Irwin of West Liberty; one sister, Mrs. Elsie Kopp of Muscatine; 10 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son and one sister.
Visitation will be at the Snyder Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon and evening.
