Mrs. Sawyer, 70 Called in Death.
Resident of Muscatine for Half Century succumbs to Heart Ailment.

Mrs. Frank Sawyer, 70, a resident of Muscatine for the past 50 years died at her home, 407 Barlett Street, Tuesday at 6:15 p.m. of a heart ailment. She had been in failing health for the past several years.

Elizabeth A. Bishop was born Sept. 28, 1865 in Rock Island county (IL) the daughter of Thomas Bishop. When a child, the family moved to Taberville, MO., later coming to Muscatine in 1886. Mrs. Sawyer has made her home here since that time. She was married to Frank E. Sawyer, Dec. 30, 1891, in Muscatine.

Mrs. Bishop was a member of the Congregational church and of the Royal Neighbors lodge.

Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Ray Fuller, a brother, Edward Sawyer, of Muscatine and one sister in Missouri.

Final rites will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in the Ralph J. Wittich funeral home with the Rev. Stanley P. Jones officiating. Burial will be made in Greenwood Cemetery. The body is to be taken to the home of Mrs. Fuller, 403 Bartlett street to remain until Friday noon.
