John H. Mauraer, 62, well known Wilton Junction business man, died Friday in St. Luke's hospital in Davenport of a heart ailment.

Funeral services were held Monday in Wilton Junction, with burial in Oakdale cemetery.

Mr. Maurer served as secretary of the White Pigeon Mutual Insurance association for 26 years; was secretary of Wilton Lodge 167, A.F. & A.M.; served as mayor of Wilton Junction and secretary of the Wilton Junction school board.

Surviving are his wife, the former Eathal M. Karns; a son, Leo W. Maurer, Wilton Junction; a daughter, Mrs. Vera M. Pagel, Wilton Junction; two brothers, Fred R. Maurer, Wilton Junction and Albert E. Maurer, West Liberty; and two grandchildren.
