ELMER E. REED

Elmer E. Reed, 80, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at his home, 304 E. 4th St., of a heart ailment.
He was born May 23, 1887, at Illinois City, the son of L. V. and Elizabeth Swigert Reed. He had been a Muscatine resident since 1925.
Mr. Reed married Maude Morehead, Dec. 29, 1909, at Illinois City. His occupation had been farming.
Survivors include three sons, Merlyn E. Reed of Wilton, Wayne E. Reed of Grandview, and LaVaughn Reed of Moline; two daughters, Mrs. Davis (Dorothy) Buchele, and Mrs. William (Loea) Martin, both of Muscatine; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
His parents, wife, and one son preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the George M. Wittich Funeral Home.
Rev. L. F. Danner will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery.

ELMER E. REED

Funeral services for Elmer E. Reed, 80, were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the George M. Wittich funeral home.
Rev. L. F. Danner officiated. Pat Simpson was the organist. The vocalists were Mrs. Jacob Brei and Mrs. Roger Kretschmar.
Flower attendants were Dorothy Dahms and Bernice Swale.
Pallbearers were Byron Buchele, Jerry Martin, James Meeks, Dean Garvin, Donald Reed and Bill Halling.
Interment was at Greenwood cemetery.
Mr. Reed died Sept. 6 at 309 E. 4th St.
