Nichols – Ralph Walter Borgstadt, 40, a life-long resident of Nichols, died at 5:30 a.m. today at his home in Nichols.
A post-mortem was to be conducted to determine definite cause of death, believed to have resulted from a heart ailment with which he had been afflicted for some time.
The son of Amos and Neva Rice Borgstadt, he was born Nov. 2, 1915, at Nichols, and married Grace Frye, May 11, 1937, at Rock Island.
Mr. Borgstadt was a member of the Christian church of Nichols, of the Homebuilders club and of the choir of the church, and was a deacon of the Nichols church. He had been a member of the Nichols town council for three years. He was employed by the Iowa Electric Light and Power Co.
Surviving are the wife; two sons, Stephen Joel and Michael Tim, both at home; a daughter, Sydney Marie, at home; and his mother, Mrs. Neva Rice Borgstadt. He was preceded in death by his father.
The body is at the Snider Funeral home in West Liberty. Time of the rites is uncertain but they will be held at the Nichols Christian church with burial in the Nichols cemetery.
