Mrs. Borgstadt, Aged Resident Of Nichols, Dies
Nichols – Mrs. Anna Dorothea Borgstadt, 82, a resident of Nichols for the past 50 years, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Hershey Convalescent home, Muscatine. She had been ill for 15 months.
Final rites for Mrs. Borgstadt will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Nichols Methodist church of which she was a member. The Rev. Horace Ireland of Danville, Ia., will officiate. Interment will be in the Nichols cemetery.
The body will be at her home here after noon on Wednesday. Arrangements are in charge of the Snider Funeral home, of West Liberty.
A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stremming, she was born July 1, 1873 at Sweet Springs, Mo. Her marriage to Joseph Borgstadt took place at Sweet Springs in 1891.
Mrs. Borgstadt had made her home at Letts before moving here. She taught the Bible class at the Nichols Methodist church for ten years and was a member of the Rebekah lodge.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Esther LaRue, Nichols; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Scholle, Kansas city, Mo., and Mrs. Clara Bitters, Toronto, Canada; five grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, two daughters and three sisters.Note: LaRue should be Larew
