Frank B. Riggs, aged 90 years, died at the Grau hospital, Muscatine, at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 1947, after a year's illness. His home was at 111 East Seventh street, Muscatine.

Mr. Riggs was in the hardware business in Clarence from 1897 to 1920 having come here from Muscatine and returning there after he sold out here.

The son of James and Catherine Davis Riggs, he was born in Rockford, Ill., Oct. 11, 1856, and lived much of his life in Muscatine. He married Nettie Dickerson on Feb. 23, 1893 at Letts, Iowa.

Mr. Riggs was a member of Iowa lodge No. 2 A.F. and A.M. Washington chapter No. 4 and DeMolay Commandery No. 1 and had been awarded 50-year certificiates in all three orders.

Surviving are his wife and two sisters, Mrs. B. F. Holden of Charles City, Iowa, and Mrs. C. B. Crawford of California. Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

The funeral was held at the Wittich Funeral Home on Friday afternoon and was conducted by Dr. Joseph M. Kennedy of the First Presbyterian church. Burial was in the Grandview cemetery at Grandview, Iowa.
