James B. Dore, 58, of 1800 Briarwood, director of technical services at Grain Processing Corp., died at 10 p.m. Tuesday of a heart attack shortly after being taken to Muscatine General Hospital.
He was born may 20, 1919 at Canton, Ill., a son of Harold P. and Elizabeth O’Leary Dore. He had been a resident of Muscatine since September, 1966.
He married Elizabeth Falkner at Peoria, Ill., Aug. 16, 1940. Mr. Dore was a member of St. Mathias church and of the American Chemical Society and the Technical Association of Pulp and Paper Industries.
He had served with the Medical Corps of the Army during World war II.
Surviving are his widow; one son, Stephen; three daughters, Deborah, Barbara and Jamie; a brother, Edward P. Dore of St. Louis; and two sisters, Mrs. L. P. (Kathryn) Dore of Chicago and Miss Mary Dore of Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Funeral services will be conducted at St. Mathias church at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be at Memorial Park cemetery. The body is at the Riley Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday and where friends may call starting at 5 p.m. Thursday.
